Hi, I’m Matt.

I work with writing as both a craft and a form of praxis: writing understood not just as something to analyze or produce, but as something that acts in the world. I hold a PhD in English and have spent my career building programs that connect writing to lived, institutional, and international contexts.

My interests range across academic, professional, and applied writing, especially where it becomes a practical tool in education, media, and public life. I’m particularly drawn to experiential and cross-cultural work, where writing has visible stakes and consequences.

I have deep ties to Wales and am a proud Welsh speaker, and many of my projects grow out of long-term collaborations across the US and the UK.

I value work that is careful, durable, and grounded in people.
